Level 22 || When should I play ranked?

And so the Valorant journey continues..

I have finally hit level 22, which means that I am technically able to begin playing ranked games. I have yet played a single match in ranked, since the current Act is scheduled to close very soon. It seems that at the start of each season / act, that everyone is "bumped" down one rank.

With that being said, I also feel that since I am still very new to FPS (I started playing on 7/26), that there's still so much that I could improve upon before heading into comp play. It is, after all, after five comp matches that I will be assigned a rank by Valorant. I am currently bottom fragging most of my matches, so it doesn't seem too good of an idea to jump in right away.

There's several aspects of Valorant / FPS that I'm training right now, which include:

-Game specific strategies (I am trying to main Clove, the controller) such as good smoke placement, effective use of abilities

-Call outs (Important*) for good comms

-Stronger KD ratio / climbing the leaderboard in DM

-General aim training outside of Valo

In terms of general aim training, I feel that this skill has the most potential to grow, since I am essentially starting at rock-bottom when it comes to the skill of aiming. Things such as finding my ideal sens and doing general practice routines have been helpful, via AimLabs and Koovak's. The next post will be an outline of what I've been doing (as a warmup, as a drill, etc) as well as the notes that I've been accumulating along the way.
