Today is September 26, 2024-which makes it the 2 month anniversary since I've started playing Valorant LOL. I don't know why I keep track of these things.
The past 2 months have been a wild ride, full of laughter, great memories, and also growth. I've really been trying a whole bunch of different things out on my way to try and become better, and I've definitely learned a lot simply by playing with my friends.
Yesterday, I finally pushed into Bronze 2, which I thought was never going to happen. I should have more confidence in the way that I play.
Currently I play Clove the most often, although I am still experimenting with different agents in various classes. Some new agents include Reyna, Raze, Cypher, and Omen.
I'm really starting to put my training emphasis on crosshair placement, which has been a huge game changer. I didn't know just how much I aimed lower, in comparison to the head level that I should be keeping my crosshair at. But with my new crosshair being one with two horizontal lines on each side, it serves as a reminder to keep things lined up (as the backdrop on many maps are huge hints about where head-level is) and to keep a steady movement when drifting my aim horizontally.
I am also understanding the importance of steady aim in terms of movement, with the help of a shooting error prompt that could be enabled in my settings. This allows me to see when my shots are stationary (with an orange line) and when they are with movement (with a blue line), that also reminds me to keep still when shooting.
So far, it seems that the in-game practice routines and reminders about core mechanics are going to play the largest role in my rank up journey from Bronze to Silver.
So that's about it for now. Head-level aiming, still aiming, and also taking better angles when fighting. The following post will be a shorter, condensed list of things I should keep reminding myself of.
