Since I have been steadily improving in Aim Trainers such as Kovaak's (as well as DM in Valorant) I was a bit stumped as to why I was still struggling to climb the leaderboards. I did, however, notice something quite important to my opinion, and I'm excited to test my new hypothesis.
I am moving too much in-game.
After all, much of my aim training has to do with me (the shooter) being stationary, while there are either static or moving targets shown in front of me.
In DM, it's the person that stays still that often gets the first hit.
Of course, there are those who are quite good at strafing, but it is the same principle here. They are completely still when shooting.
I think that the biggest change I could immediately incorporate is simply being mindful of possible contact situations, and slowing down the movement in those instances. Simply doing that will slow down the game and hopefully contribute to aiming success.
